In 2007, Lodge Cottrell asked us to supply 96 contractors to assist in upgrading the pollution control system at Rugely Power Station in Staffordshire. We started by proactively planning the labour requirements for each stage, to anticipate and prepare for the fluctuating levels of demand.
Huge Database Of Registered Candidates
Our next port of call was our huge database of registered candidates, which holds the names and contact details of literally thousands of skilled engineers, all screened, reference checked and interested in hearing from us with potential work.
100% Skills Match
Nothing less than a 100% skills match was sent on for further consideration. For the Rugely upgrade project, we were able to fill every one of the required roles with suitably experienced staff by the agreed deadlines.
On Site Presence
With so many contractors on site we decided to hold regular on-site candidate and payroll clinics twice a week to deal with any issues face to face. The project was on a tight schedule, so we time-tabled our visits to coincide with a shift change or lunch break to minimise any disruption to the working day.
International Assignment
We now have an unrivalled database of candidates located across the UK who will respond when we come calling – even when the job involves an international assignment. This claim was put to the test in 2010 when Lodge Cottrell put in a bid for a project in Cyprus. We mobilised a team of people on our UK database and sent them out to work on two- and three-shift patterns for the six month contract. Everything went so well that Lodge Cottrell won the second phase of the contract. And we supplied all the labour for that, too.
