One Stop Shop Recruitment
In 2009, Shepherd Engineering Services Ltd (SES) asked us to recruit the mechanical and electrical contractors required for the new Bournville College project in Longbridge, Birmingham. Over the course of the project we delivered a one stop shop recruitment service, providing skilled contract workers for 20 mechanical and 17 electrical roles, including pipefitters, plumbers, electricians, electricians’ mates, supervisors and foremen. We were able to recruit most of our candidates by good old fashioned word of mouth, talking to everyone on site and asked if they knew other skilled people looking for work.
Bringing Back Past Performers
We were also able to contact some of the people that SES had been forced to make redundant in the past and put them on our payroll. The SES team was delighted to see us bringing back their past performers, and pleased that we will be helping to find them other work when the current project is finished.
Fast Response Time
We have worked so closely and well with SES that we are now their sole supplier for contract workers across the Midlands. These days, when they have a new vacancy, we send whoever we feel would be best for the job down to the site for immediate induction. We’re famous for our fast response time, too. In fact, when the site manager needed an experienced plumber on site by 7.30am Friday – and told us 5pm Thursday afternoon – he wasn’t surprised to find our candidate fully briefed, ready and waiting when he arrived for work!
